The Independence Memorial Museum of Namibia is on a hilltop overlooking Windhoek. Nicknamed 'the coffeepot' it was built by a North Korean company and celebrates the liberation struggle from German colonialism. Three storeys house a display of life-size artistic impressions of famous battles, historical documents, military vehicles and a history of the peoples of Namibia. Entry is free. In front of the building is a statue of former president Sam Nujoma holding the 'constituency book'.
