Lecture given as part of Die Burger lecture series at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (KKNK). FVZS looks at different interpretations of the words “African” and “Renaissance”; comes to the conclusion that “African Renaissance” could simply mean that the best available information must be utilised to make the advantages of democracy, peace and prosperity available to the whole of Africa.
