Rhodes Matopos National Park (Zimbabwe), aerial view of World's View hilltop, burial place of John Cecil Rhodes

1937

Summary

December 1, 1937. 'World View,' Matopos Hills, Southern Rhodesia: The Memorial ground and some of its surroundings. The ascent of the rock constitutes a pretty fair climb, for there are no steps on its smooth surface. The road ends at the base of the rock in the woods which are seen just beyond the group of boulders, and the path ascends the other side of the mound. This is about an hour's drive south of Bulawayo. 5000 feet. 06:50. Grayscale
