Griffin Claes’ Origins

unspecified

This fabric commemorates the family, home, and memories of a former UW-Madison student, linking his Italian heritage and being raised in Chicago. Designed and created in a School of Human Ecology course, this fabric displays the black and white portraits of the members of the student’s family. The street addresses of his different homes along with important initials and the City of Chicago emblem decorate the background. Also running throughout the background are the colorful trajectories of the Chicago public transit system. This fabric uses a combination of printing and embroidery.
