A MISSION TO EDUCATE

This report is on Irma Turtle, ex-director of a New York advertising agency who left her job to set up an association dedicated to teaching members of the nomadic Wodaabe and Tuareg tribes in Nigeria. The association’s aim is to provide them with an education so that they can maintain their traditions and play a role in the politics of their country. The report shows how these desert tribes live and what is involved in the schooling of nomadic children.
