Mighty Man: The Human Law Enforcing Dynamo, No 3

c 1975-1978

“Mighty Man" was a secretly commissioned comic series published by the South African government, with the help of the CIA, as a propaganda tool during that time. Intended for younger audiences in the capital city of Johannesburg, “Mighty Man” featured a former policeman who fought crime and helped those in trouble. Published between 1975-1977 the comics were part of a five-year secret propaganda war led by Eschel Rhoodie, Secretary of the Department of Information in the South African government from 1972 until 1977, to defend apartheid.
