Togo

Togo ( (listen)), officially the Togolese Republic (French: République togolaise), is a country in West Africa. It is bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north. It extends south to the Gulf of Guinea, where its capital, Lomé, is located.

Ten years ago, the Alassani family moved from Togo to Harthausen in the German state of Rheinland-Pfalz. Because too many people in their homeland no longer have access to clean water, the Alassanis wanted wanted to raise money to build two wells in Togo. Their entire village in Germany supported the project.
