Moi University was established in 1984 as the second public university in Kenya. Since its opening, Moi University has grown exponentially and now has over 39,000 students distributed across five campuses in Kenya; Annex, Coast, Eldoret Town (CHS), Eldoret, and Nairobi.
Its vision is to be the University of choice in nurturing innovation and talent in science, technology, and development.
Its mission is to preserve, create, and disseminate knowledge, conserve and develop scientific, technological, and cultural heritage through quality teaching and research; to create conducive work and learning environment, and to work with stakeholders for the betterment of society.
The School of Information Sciences at Moi University is the physical home to the Hilary Ng’weno Archive. Since its inception in 1988, the School of Information Sciences has become a leading regional training ground for information-related professionals.
