This film presents Joseph Otiende as a founder of KAU, the first African political organization to fight colonial rule. He joined KANU in 1960 and in 1963 was elected in Vihiga constituency, and Otiende was appointed Minister of Education and Culture, as well as Minister in the East African Common Services Organization.
