Most photos have been removed from the album and stored in the same sequence as they were in the album. The photographs include: Cape Mounted Rifles in 1896; anglo Boer War 1899-1902; Pondo people; Pilansburg and Schoonoord Camps and the tribal people in these areas. The postcards are of a voyage up the East coast of Africa in 1905. The album has been retained, with the postcards and captions for the photos.
