Captain A.W. Liefeldt, 91, left and Commander Les Bingham, 83, were among seven veterans of the Battle of Delville Wood who attended a service in Government Avenue yesterday dedicated to the 2670 men of the 1st South African infantry Brigade who fell during the six days and five nights of the battle 68 years ago. The service was attended by the three generations of war veterans, relatives and members of the armed forces.
