During the 2005 Cultural Week in the Kalahari, San community members from Botswana and South Africa were invited to make crafts and demonstrate tracking, hunting and other activities. Here, San people, demonstrate the healing dance know as |qû. The elders are dressed in pants and shirts dancing with the ǂKhomani dance group. The dance is intended to assist in the healing of sick individuals. Traditionally men would dance while the women and children would sing and clap. The men occasionally go into a trance and enter the spirit world where the ancestors would guide them in the healing.
