More than 100 Navy technical trainees from Wingfield tackled the mammoth task of trying to clean the beach between Milnerton lagoon and Blouberg. The operation, which took place during a three-week recess of the SA Defence Force Technical Institute, was chosen because most of the debris fouling that beach came from passing shipping.
