Synopsis of mail received by the Du Boises since their departure: (among others) Milton Rogovin asks for ideas on photographic subjects; World Council of Peace will hold its regular session in December; letter from Gwendolyn Carter (Smith College) asking whether Du Bois would allow her students access to his materials on the Pan African Movement; Indiana University Press asking to publish his autobiography; University of California Press stating "it may be premature to attempt an encyclopedia of this scope." Delighted to head about the excitement in Ghana: "Of course, Ghana is very much in the news these days and everything which is published is designed to make it sound as though open revolt was just around the corner. It would be wonderful if you could let us know precisely what is going on and what the reason for the propaganda burst is."
