Congo, Gen. Jos. Mobutu, Mr. and Mrs. Sture Linner, U.N. Chief in Congo Sture Linner was the head of the UN civilian operations in the Congo 1960-1961, during the Congo crisis. General Joseph-Désiré Mobutu became President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1965. He changed his name to Mobutu Sese Seko in 1972.
