Machine and hand sewing at the mission, Congo, ca.1920-1940

“Missie der Zusters Franciscanessen van Herenthals. Ubangi – Belgisch Congo. Onze meisjes leeren ook stikken.” Young women at the mission are shown in a sewing class. Several use sewing machines, and others work at hand stitching the fabric pieces. A missionary sister poses with the seamstresses. The caption and publisher, “Ern. Thill, Brussel.” are printed on the back of the postcard. Handwriting in French closely covers the back.
