In the back row an Ethiopian boy and Marie and Fritz Bock standing, in front of them an Ethiopian customs official who is wrapped in a white cloth and wearing a sun helmet, next to him nurse Martha Waßmann, in front of them three Ethiopian children. Friedrich (Fritz) Bock (1902-1993) was a missionary of the Hermannsburg mission in Ethiopia from 1932 to 1936. He was married to Marie, née Harmening. From 1937 to 1944 he served in South Africa. Afterwards he worked as a missionary in Germany.
