Black and white photograph printed onto a postcard showing Emily Godfrey, matron of the Ama Achara Methodist Hospital in modern Abia state, southeast Nigeria, run by the Primitive Methodist Missionary Society (later the Methodist Missionary Society.) Emily Godfrey sits on the steps of the leper colony hospital that the Primitive Methodist Missionary Society ran in Uzuakoli, also in Abia state. The image was taken at Christmas in 1932. This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey.
