Black and white photograph showing a male European missionary with two Nigerian children cared for by the Methodist Missionary Society at their hospital at Ama Achara, southeast Nigeria. The image was taken at their Christmas celebration in December 1938. The missionary sits on the arm of a chair and holds a Nigerian baby on his knee, who holds a patterned bowl. A small boy holds a food bowl and spoon and stands next to the missionary. This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey, Matron of the Ama Achara Methodist Hospital.
