Black and white photograph showing a scene at the dispensary of the Ama Achara Methodist Hospital, run by the Primitive Methodist Missionary Society (later the Methodist Missionary Society.) A man stands under the centre of the thatch canopy to the building, and two female missionaries sit to either side of him. Medical work at Ama Achara was begun in 1921, with a single nurse (Emily Godfrey, the first Matron of the Ama Achara Hospital), and a female missionary, Miss Leggatt. This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey
