The caption next to this photograph reads: "Dr Brown & Mrs Roberts in front of the latter's bungalow 1932. Jan. Umu Dike." Umudike is in Abia state, Nigeria, south of the Ama Achara hospital run by the Primitive Methodist Missionary Society. This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey, Matron of the hospital from 1921 to 1944.
