A man is outside kneeling by a house he is building with straw and branches. A child is standing in the distance. The back of the postcard is blank and contains the caption: "1. Maison de Noirs en construction." ("House of blacks under construction") and also contains information about the mission agency: "Mission des Soeurs de l'Union au S. C., Gingungi s/Lukula, Kwango. Maison-mere a Hougaerde, pres Tirlemont."
