Black and white photograph showing Emily Godfrey, matron of the Ama Achara Hospital run by the Methodist Missionary Society. She sits with a Mrs Wakefield, also a missionary, at a synod held in Uzuakoli, south-eastern Nigeria, in February 1934. Mrs Wakefield may be the wife of Harry Wakefield, a missionary of the Methodist Missionary Society based at Oron. Emily Godfrey wears a patterned dress and sits on the left of the image. This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey.
