Black and white photograph showing a school at the leper colony in Itu, southeast Nigeria, run by Church of Scotland medical missionaries. The school buildings can be seen through palm trees, and a group of patients stand in the yard in front of the school. The leper colony at Itu was founded in 1926 by Dr Andrew Buchanan MacDonald. This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey, Matron of the Ama Achara Methodist Hospital run by the Methodist Missionary Society in modern Abia state, southeast Nigeria.
