Canoes, Enyong Creek, Calabar, Nigeria, ca. 1930-1940

Tinted lantern slide showing two manned canoes travelling along Enyong Creek. One canoe can just be seen to the right of the image. The central canoe is powered by two rowers, one at the front and one at the rear, and a man sits low down in the centre of the vessel. This slide comes from a set on mission, culture and industry in Calabar, southeast Nigeria generated by the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church of Scotland (which was incorporated with the Church of Scotland in 1929.)
