Four indigenous children pose near a thatched house. One sits in the doorway, one stands nearby with small chickens at his feet, and two grind grain with long poles. The back of the postcard is blank and contains a printed title: "Congo. - 3. Une case indigene au Kwango. L'entree est legerement surelevee pour la defendre contre l'intrusion de toutes sortes de betes." ("Congo. - 3. An indigenous house in Kwango. The entry is slightly elevated to defend it against the intrusion of all kinds of animals.") The back also contains information about the publisher, "Ed. Jesuites Missionnaires, 6, Rue d'Auvergne, Lyon," and the printer, "Imprimerie M. Lescuyer, Lyon."
