Black and white lantern slide showing a formation of soldiers on a plain, taken at a distance. An officer of the King's African Rifles appears to be inspecting the troops from the front of the group. The photographer's shadow can clearly be seen in the foreground of the image. This slide comes from a set on the activities of the King’s African Rifles battalions in Nyasaland. It was originally held by the Church of Scotland, and generated by J.W MacKay.
