Black and white lantern slide showing three officers' boys from the King's African Rifles standing in a horizontal line next to three women in traditional dress. Each of the women carries a straw basket on her head. The boys have been buying beer for the troops, and one carries a small bowl. The women may be the sellers of the beer. This slide comes from a set on the activities of the King’s African Rifles battalions in Nyasaland. It was originally held by the Church of Scotland, and generated by J.W MacKay.
