Nyasaland Man and Thatched Huts, Malawi, ca. 1914-1918

Black and white lantern slide featuring a Nyasaland man wearing a shirt and wrap around his waist, apparently folding something into a bundle and using the frame for a cooking pot as support. The two small thatched huts he stands in front of are almost identical in shape. This slide comes from a set on the activities of the King’s African Rifles battalions in Nyasaland. It was originally held by the Church of Scotland, and generated by J.W MacKay.
