Black and white lantern slide showing a group of six men and boys on a path next to a river. A rolled up reed mat lies in the path, which one of the men sits next to. Equipment can be seen (a bedroll) laid down further up the path. One man wears a dark pill-box hat. One man with his back to the camera appears to have a tool placed down the cloth wrap that is tied around his waist, which may be a chisel or a knife. It is possible that these men and boys are part of the Carrier Corps in the King's African Rifles. This slide comes from a set on the activities of the King’s African Rifles battalions in Nyasaland. It was originally held by the Church of Scotland, and generated by J.W MacKay.
