“Teacher’s House at the Lake Shore. Mrs Walter Henderson.” Exterior view of a female mission worker standing near a small thatched roof building. Mrs Henderson is probably the wife of Mr Walter J Henderson who was a builder at Livingstonia and arrived in 1865. The Livingstonia mission station was established in 1891 by Dr Robert Laws (1851-1934) when he travelled north from Bandawe to set up a Training Institution and Industrial Mission. ❧ Album containing photographs recording a voyage up the Shire River and scenes from the Livingstonia mission.
