The Cameroon government has begun a community development programme in the country assisted by the United Nations Technical Assistance Programme and the UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). With the aid of UNESCO, the Ministry of National Education started a rural youth project to stimulate community activity by means as such classes as civics, home improvement and agriculture. The United States Peace Corps is also aiding the programme.
