Owing to a very good road from the provincial capital, Mansa, and its status as a district capital, the village of Nchelenge was a relatively prosperous area in 1976. Opposite shore of Lake is in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire) 6840-08 Kaputa - Nsama LMWT boat 1976
