“’Mac’ – our visiting parson.” Portrait of the Rev. Frederick McKenrick of the African Inland Mission. Rev. McKenrick, an American Presbyterian, covered the religious needs of the Tumutumu mission while Dr Arthur was on furlough and the field was left without an ordained missionary. He had come to Kenya in 1905 and had recently married Elizabeth Pierson he also had three daughters from a previous marriage. ❧ This image is from an album chronicling the time that Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) spent at Tumutumu (1919-1921) and some of the early years at Chogoria.
