“Chogoria, early days.” Interior view of the male ward with patients in beds and orderlies performing dressing duties. The hospital assistants wore khaki uniforms and pork pie hats and performed most of the duties in the wards, dispensaries and theatre. ❧ The image is from the collection of Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) showing the period from 1928-1961 at the Chogoria mission which was established in 1922.
