“Here I met Christ, and he healed me.” Portrait of an adult and child, Murethi & Kangangi, sitting on a bed on the lawn outside the main hospital. The hospital building was opened in 1926 and consisted of men’s and women’s wards and an operating theatre. ❧ The image is from the collection of Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) showing the period from 1928-1961 at the Chogoria mission which was established in 1922.
