“Joy had a caravan for a time, Gwen Martin-Harvey stayed with us in?” Exterior view of a caravan next to which stand Margaret Joyce and a visitor, children look on. The Irvines purchased a caravan for the Revival convention at Kabete from 30 August - 5 September 1949, which was attended by fifteen thousand people. The caravan was bought so that Mrs Irvine could attend other Revival conventions around the country, but the vehicle was unmanageable on the rough country roads and it eventually was used for extra accommodation at the family home in Chogoria. ❧ The image is from the collection of Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) showing the period from 1947-1961 at the Chogoria mission which was established near Mt Kenya, in 1922, and run by Dr Irvine.
