People standing near a cross in a village clearing, Tanzania, ca. 1920-1940

Several people stand near a small wooden cross erected in a cleared place between thatch-roofed huts. Behind them, the rise of a steep hill can be seen. The back of the postcard has no handwriting on it. Printed in the margin of the correspondence section is "Universities' Mission to Central Africa, 9. Dartmouth Street, Westminster." "Bwagamoyo (Zanzibar Diocese) one of the many villages around Magila : it lies at the gates of the Mission Station. Part of the mountains which surround Magila can be seen in the distance."
