A street in Genadendal, South Africa, ca.1930

"Straße in Gnadenthal." ("A street in Genadendal."). The picture shows three dwellings which are standing next to each other. The houses are fenced and some trees are standing around them. Mountains in the background. The picture was probably taken by Samuel Baudert (1879-1956), born as son of the missionary Samuel Baudert in South Africa. He was the mission director of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine from 1924 to 1927 and since 1929 their bishop. It might also be possible that the picture was taken by Eugen Theodor Baudert (1876-1953) who worked as a lecturer at the theological seminar in Mvenyane.
