The man is standing, his wife is sitting next to him, having the youngest of the children on her lap. The other two children are standing to the right of the mother, in front of their father. Johannes Schanz (1876-1963) was a priest. He worked for the Leipzig Mission in Moshi and Memba from 1901-1910.
