"Die 'Karre' von Mamre vor dem Missionshaus." ("The 'cart' of Mamre in front of the missionaries' house."). In the center of the picture are four horsemen and a horse-drawn cart. One man is standing in front of the cart and one man is sitting in the cart. Trees, the missionaries house and smaller buildings in the background. E. Baudert probably took the picture in 1830. -- Eugen Baudert (1876-1953), born in Silo and died in Bonza Bay near East London, was teacher at and head of the Herrnhuter mission seminar in Mvenyane from 1904-1931. He married Margarethe Maria Baur in 1909. -- The picture might have also been taken by Samuel Baudert (1879-1956). -- The picture shows the party's return from Pella.
