"En kabary i Tananarive" ("Kabary in Antananarivo"). Andohalo park was earlier a meeting square for the people. The royal "kabary" took place on this area. In the middle of the park a pavilion. "Kabary" is a Malagasy way to perform speeches on various occasions. -- To the bottom left of the picture is Queen Ranavalona III sitting on a chair between carriers This maybe from her last speech before she was exiled to Algeria, where she died in 1917.
