"V.h. Ambohimasina" ("Ambohimasina Mission Station"). This mission station was founded by David Egenaes (1838-1921) in 1870. He stayed here to he left Madagascar 1901. Johan Smith is standing up on the balcony. He was a missionary in Madagascar from 1887-1919. During this time he managed Ambohimasina Mission Station from 1898-1907. He married Kunda 1863-1892, maiden name Helliesen Bertelsen. She died in Ihosy on December 11, 1892. Johan Smith married Nikoline (Lina) Johanne 1860-1938, in Ambohimasina on December 11, 1894. She was a missionary in Madagascar from 1886-1919. Died in Oslo, Norway on September 15, 1938.
