Here the two missionaries Gerald Ovir and Karl Segebrock were attacked and assassinated in the night of the 19th to the 20th October 1896 by Arusha and Meru people. Both were delegated 5/6/1895"). Next to the grave a confirmation candidate from Arusha. Cf. separate photos nos. 118, 119 and 120. -- Leonhard Blumer (1878-1938), from Kida in Estonia, served the Leipzig Mission as pastor and teacher in Arusha from 1907 to 1930 (apart from home leave in 1912-1913 and 1924-1926).
