"Pfingstfest 1936 in der Wildnis." ("Pentecost in 1936 in the wilderness"). A missionary, probably Brother Hauffe, smoking a pipe while sitting inside a hut. In front of him: books and an ashtray lying on a table. Behind him on the wall: a map of East Africa and a rifle. One copy is missing. -- Werner Hauffe (1909-1982) was a carpenter and later a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. From 1933 to 1939, he served in Rungwe, Utengule and Isoko. In Utengule, he was an assistant to Brother Gemuseus. In 1937 he married Irmgard Wolff.
