"Der Lehrer Ndelizo mit seinen Schülern bei der Stadtschule Arusha" ("The teacher Ndelizo with his students at the Arusha town school"). 20 boys of different age dressed in long shirts standing in a row of two on a path. Next to them on the right Ndelizo wearing 'kanzu', jacket and cap conducting with a stick. On the left a European building with white wall and corrugated iron roof. Cf. photo no. 77, album no. 18. -- Max Pätzig (1885-1983), from Böhringen in Saxony, was a shoemaker before joining the Leipzig Mission as a pastor. He served in Arusha from 1928 to 1940 (apart from home leave in 1935-1936). He was nominated chief of honour of the Arusha people.
