"Isoko. Aussätzige in der Behandlung von Schw. Schärf." ("Isoko. Lepers under treatment by Sister Schärf."). A group of six Africans and Else Schärf are standing and crouching under the grass roof of a house. Photo taken during the visitation of Brother Samuel Baudert 1929/1930. -- The edges have been destroyed by light. -- Else Schärf (born 1892, year of death unknown) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. She was a deaconess and received training not only as a nurse but also in the care of mothers and lepers. She served from 1928 for many years at the leprosy hospital in Isoko.
