"Auf der Reise. Zebu-Bulle u. Elen-Antilopen in Uhehe, Temben-Bauart." ("On the trip. Zebu bull a[nd] elands in Uhehe, type of tembes."). View of a zebu bull, two elands and six goats on a sandy village road. One African is standing next to them behind a tree, another one is standing behind one of the elands. A fence and a tree in front of a tembe are to be found on the left-hand side whereas the background shows a tembe house and kind of an alley to the right with more tembes. Imprinted on the image: "3258". In Swahili tembes denote rectangular houses with mud walls and a flat roof, to be found in East Africa. -- Adolf Ferdinand Stolz (1871-1917) was a mission trader of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine in Ipanya from 1898 to 1902 and in Kyimbila from 1903 to 1914.
