“Chogoria, early days.” Interior view of the medical facilities at Chogoria with patients waiting as an orderly examines samples through a microscope. The hospital assistants wore khaki uniforms and pork pie hats and performed most of the duties in the wards, dispensaries and theatre. ❧ The image is from the collection of Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) showing the period from 1928-1961 at the Chogoria mission which was established in 1922.
