“Dressings in surgical ward hospital.” Interior view of the male ward at the main hospital, Dr Irvine stands in the middle. Built in 1925, the hospital consisted of two wards, set at an angle to each other, with the hospital facilities and operating theatre connecting them. ❧ The image is from the first twenty years of the Chogoria mission in Kenya, which was run by the Rev. Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974), from the collection entitled ‘Chogoria, glimpses into the past’.
